Foreign trade is very important to Galicia; it is a market with a high level of openness, as reflected in the following macroeconomic data:
- Level of openness (exports + imports)/GDP: 58,3%
- Imports with respect to GDP: 29,7%
- In 2007, exports and forwarding reached the figure of 15,999,585.91 thousands of Euro, with a yearly increase of 9.5% and imports and introductions reaching 16,575,560.02 thousands of Euro, with a yearly increase of 6%.
