Fiscal aspects

Company internationalisation results in capital and revenue flows, the fiscal consequences of which must be taken into account.

Galicia has a very modern and competitive tax system. The tax burden of Spain as a whole is below that of the Euro Zone. Countries such as France, Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic have a higher tax burden than Galicia.

The system groups taxes into two blocks:

  • Direct taxes
  • Indirect taxes

In the section Galicia in Figures you can see what they are.

You can also download the guide "Tax system", where all the relevant information is compiled.

One of the main problems with obtaining revenue abroad is the possibility of being taxed on the earnings in the country where they originate and then again in the home country. This is the double taxation problem.

In order to avoid these situations, Spain has signed bilateral agreements for international double taxation with over 50 countries. At the web site of the Spanish Commercial Offices Abroad you can find more information.
