The current situation of progressive globalisation of the economy creates new training requirements that companies need to face. The competitiveness of a company depends to a large extent on the knowledge of their staff about international trade. The training of professionals in this area is key to the success of an internationalisation process.
Aware of this need, the Industry and Economy Bureau wants to provide Galician companies with specialised training in the area of internationalisation. The fact that our companies are present in the global economy, will boost our competitiveness as a country.
This section details the different foreign trade training modules available. From organised training designed for individuals without professional experience up to masters programmes, specialisation courses, conferences and seminars for professionals.

- Masters Programmes
The objective of the Masters is to give the student multidisciplinary understanding of international trade and business. These programmes are run by universities as part of their general postgraduate programmes or by business schools. Duration and cost varies from one centre to another.
Aware of the need to train professionals that manage companies on an international level, we point out "The Master in Management and Co-ordination of Foreign trade", (www.usc.es/mascomex) given at the University of Santiago de Compostela in collaboration with the Industry and Innovation Bureau, designed to cover the necessities of today's company professionals. - Specific courses on Foreign Trade
These courses are designed for professionals who carry out foreign trade activities for the company, exports, imports or international transport management. Also for graduates or students wishing to develop their professional activity in the international trade environment. Given in various public and private organisations, usually with a duration of no more than 300 hours. The price varies considerably depending on whether or not it is subsidised training.
Santiago de Compostela University, within the scope of its training activities for foreign trade, in collaboration with the Industry and Innovation Bureau, organises the “Expert course in assessment and consultancy for foreign trade”, (www.usc.es/mascomex) with a practical approach and designed for technical and management resources of companies who wish to go international. It is also orientated towards Galician consultancy companies providing assessment and consultancy services for internationalisation processes to companies. - Conferences and Seminars
Offer extremely relevant information about topics related to foreign trade. Designed for professionals in the sector and given by specialised individuals in this subject matter. In the majority of cases, attendance is free with advance registration.

The Spanish Foreign Trade Institute ICEX available on their web site, within their training programmes, there is a free Virtual Classroom where you can participate online in conferences and seminars they organise.

Foreign scholarships programme promoted by the Galician Exports Promotion Plan FOEXGA, scholarships are available in different countries throughout the world where support is given to the internationalisation of Galician companies. Sales missions by representatives of Galician companies to specific destinations are coordinated. Another of their initiatives includes responding to queries made from Galicia about the market in the country where they are located. During their period abroad, they perform market analysis relating to the development of specific sectors of interest to the Galician economy.
